One of the best parts of building AI Horizons is watching what our community does with their newly acquired skills. Every month, members share projects, get feedback, and inspire each other — and March has been an especially strong month. Here are some of the standout projects and stories.
Project Spotlight
The AI Lesson Planner (Sarah K., elementary school teacher)
Sarah enrolled in AI Horizons six months ago with zero technical background. Her goal was simple: use AI to reduce the time she spent on administrative tasks so she could spend more time actually teaching.
This month she shared a prompt-based system she's built and refined over three months: a structured lesson planning workflow that takes a grade level, subject, learning objective, and available time, and produces a differentiated lesson plan with activities for multiple skill levels. She estimates it saves her four to five hours a week — time she now spends with students.
"I didn't need to write any code," she told our community channel. "Just really good prompts and a clear system. The AI Coach helped me iterate until it was actually reliable."
Personal Finance AI Coach (Marcus T., financial analyst)
Marcus built a conversational interface — using the Claude API and a simple Python backend — that helps his clients explore their financial situations through guided questions. It doesn't give financial advice; instead, it helps clients organize their thinking before meetings with Marcus, who finds they arrive better prepared.
He used our Building With AI APIs learning path and credits the AI Coach with helping him debug the system prompt — which took nearly twenty iterations to get right.
Music Theory Tutor (Priya L., musician and educator)
Priya built a prompt-based music theory tutor she uses with her students. It explains concepts, generates exercises, and can describe what a chord progression sounds like in natural language. She's now working on connecting it to a MIDI interface.
Member Milestone: 1,000-Day Streak
This month, community member David H. reached a 1,000-day streak on our daily challenges — a milestone no one in our community has hit before. We asked him what keeps him going.
"Honestly, the challenges themselves got better. Early on they were simpler. Now some of them genuinely challenge me even after three years of working with AI. And there's something about maintaining a streak that becomes its own motivation — you don't want to break it even on days when you don't feel like it."
Trending Discussions
Beyond projects, some of the most valuable activity in our community happens in discussion threads. March's most-engaged threads:
- "How do you handle AI hallucinations in production?" — over 200 replies with real-world strategies from practitioners
- "What's the best way to learn fine-tuning from scratch?" — a collaborative curriculum that the community built together
- "Show us your weirdest AI use case" — exactly what it sounds like, and deeply entertaining
