Today we're shipping one of the most requested features in AI Horizons history: Learning Paths. Here's what they are, how they work, and how to find the right one for you.
The Problem We're Solving
AI education has a navigation problem. There's an enormous amount to learn — models, prompting, agents, fine-tuning, evaluation, tooling — and it's genuinely unclear where to start and how to sequence things. Start too advanced and you lose the thread. Start too basic and you're bored. Skip prerequisites and concepts don't stick.
Learning Paths solve this by giving you a clear, opinionated route through the material — one that's calibrated to your starting point and your destination.
How Learning Paths Work
Every Learning Path is a curated sequence of three content types that work together:
- Courses: Structured modules with lessons, examples, and quizzes that build conceptual understanding
- Daily Challenges: Targeted practice exercises that apply concepts from the course in realistic scenarios
- AI Coach Sessions: Guided conversations with the AI Coach that deepen understanding, answer follow-up questions, and provide personalized feedback
When you enroll in a path, your dashboard shows your exact position in the sequence, what's next, and how each piece connects to the others. Progress is tracked automatically across all three content types.
Available Learning Paths at Launch
We're launching with seven paths, with more in development:
Beginner Paths
- AI Foundations: Zero to functional — understand what AI is, how to use it effectively, and how to evaluate outputs
- Prompt Engineering Essentials: Go from guessing at prompts to crafting them with intent and precision
Intermediate Paths
- Building With AI APIs: Learn to integrate AI models into applications using Python
- AI for Knowledge Work: Productivity, research, writing, and analysis with AI — built for non-engineers
- Evaluating AI Systems: How to measure, test, and improve AI-powered applications
Advanced Paths
- AI Agents and Agentic Systems: Design and build multi-step agents that can plan, use tools, and handle real tasks
- Fine-Tuning and Adaptation: Customize models for specific domains and use cases
How to Choose Your Path
Not sure where to start? The AI Coach can help. Describe your background, your goals, and the kind of work you do, and it will recommend a starting path — along with an explanation of why that path makes sense for you specifically.
You can also switch paths at any time, combine paths, or move ahead if a section covers material you already know well. Learning Paths are a guide, not a constraint.
What's Coming Next
This is the first version of Learning Paths, and we're already working on the next features: adaptive sequencing that adjusts based on your quiz performance, peer cohorts that let you move through a path with a group, and employer-facing certificates tied to specific paths. Stay tuned.
